A Nationalist Response to the Under 16 Social Media Ban

It is well known that the Australian Government has moved to outright ban under-16s from using social media platforms like TikTok, Telegram, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). But the issue goes deeper than screen time or safety—it’s about who controls the narrative shaping the minds of our young people.

At the Nationalist Service Foundation, we believe it’s time to ask difficult but necessary questions

  • Who benefits when young people are removed from open digital spaces?
  • What worldview fills the vacuum left behind?
  • Who has access to your child’s mind when you’re not around?
  • And what role should families and communities play in reclaiming the cultural and educational direction of our youth?

At face value, policies restricting children from social media appear to be rooted in concerns about mental health, bullying, body image issues, or online predators. These concerns are are in-fact shared by some parents (especially the issue of online predators) across the political spectrum. But scratch beneath the surface, and a broader, sinister and more coordinated agenda becomes visible.

These restrictions rarely exist in isolation. They often coincide with attempts to introduce centralised digital identity systems, failed proposals for “misinformation” regulation, and continued efforts to deplatform dissenting voices—especially those who critique globalist, post-national, or hyper-progressive ideologies.

Unlike authoritarian regimes such as China or Russia, liberal democracies tend to outsource censorship. In non-autocratic ‘democracies’, governments rely on social media corporations to enforce policies and cut off access – turning them into private enforcers. Under the guise of protecting minors, platforms are now being asked to verify the age of all users using biometric data. This slippery slope deserves greater public scrutiny.

What’s happening, in effect, is the sterilisation of digital spaces which is used by some young people to explore alternative ideas, cultural pride, and nationalist thought. While censorship of nationalist thought and ideology is tightened, the promotion of radical content—whether it be far-left, hyper-sexualised, LGBTQIP+ or anti-traditional content—continues to flood the feeds of young Australians. The result is ideological imbalance, confusion, self-hatred and disorientation.

In schools and universities—whether public or private—Australian children increasingly face a system that downplays their history and reframes their heritage through a lens of guilt. From childcare to tertiary education, traditional Australian values are often erased, while “diversity” is celebrated without nuance or fairness.

It can be as subversive as a small gesture or song; or as full blown as being made to stand up in class and berated by a lesbian teacher for the crime of being born a White Male, the education system in it’s entirety has been corrupted to the core.

Meanwhile, the digital world is one that offers some escape or alternative to the madness at schools—a place where young people can explore history, identity, and heritage—which is becoming increasingly off-limits. Nationalist or even Conservative thought leaders are routinely shadow-banned, demonetised, or removed entirely. Online communities where young Australians can find some sort of affirmation and learning content are now gated (app banned by Apple) or erased silently by direct order of the Australian Government.

What remains is a vacuum. Young Australians are left without strong role models, historical context, or community. They are denied the tools they need to navigate a world that has become openly hostile to their identity. Without guidance from families or like-minded peers, and with schools often reinforcing the prevailing ideological narrative, where can they turn?

It’s true that the internet is a double-edged sword. For every channel promoting nationalist content, there’s another pushing communist or radical ideas. But once children are removed from the internet, their only sources of information are the institutions—schools and media—that already filter content through a progressive, globalist lens. Parents, who are often overworked or absent due to the rising cost of living, may not always be able to fill this gap.

The answer is not simply to “log off.” Nor is silence a viable solution. What we need is a real-world, physical response—an educational and cultural movement rooted in truth, discipline, and belonging. A structured, healthy, and affirming community for young Australians to grow and thrive in.

Ironically, the forced departure of youth from social media may prove to be a blessing in disguise. As digital access shrinks, real-world engagement must grow. This is an opportunity for young people to connect in person—to form bonds, learn new ideas, and take action in their communities. No longer idle consumers, they must become doers.

This is where the Nationalist Service Foundation steps in. We are building an infrastructure for youth engagement—offering an enriching, empowering alternative to the woke institutions that dominate education, culture and media today.

At the Nationalist Service Foundation, we are laying the groundwork for a two-pronged youth movement:

Both programs emphasise discipline, service, honour, and national identity. Weekly meetups, hands-on education, leadership development, and nature-based learning will form the core of these initiatives—not through coercion, but through empowerment.

If we put aside the push for a digital ID and social credit score (which is a reality); what data is the government likely relying on to show that young Western males are increasingly open to nationalist values and that they must stem the tide before it is too late? Below are a few charts that illustrate the shift of young men becoming radicalised.

Please note, that where the charts do not explicitly mention young (18-29) White male attitudes, they are invariably more right wing than their counterparts as shown through US data. Public polling consistently shows that when race is specified, young White males are more likely to hold right-leaning political views. In Australia’s data, you’d be forgiven to reject this notion. Alas, the race of the respondent is not specified in Australian data.

This also speaks to the sheer level of Australia’s lack of native White birth rates and and diversification of Australia’s youth – which would otherwise explain how more and more young people (without specifying the race) – are voting further to the left – which is why we see that creating these youth movements for young people is so important!

As you look upon some of the Australian charts below – where the data does NOT specifically mention the race of the respondent (i.e. White male), assume that those surveyed also include other cohorts, who are reasonably more left leaning and supportive on issues such as immigration etc. and thus supportive of political parties who accelerate those issues (Labor, Greens et al.)

Mainstream youth services, schools, and media have become overtly political. Traditional values are often dismissed as outdated or dangerous, and national pride is demonised. Cultural education specific to White Australians is either ignored or actively suppressed.

Let’s be clear: cultural neutrality is a myth. If one identity is consistently affirmed while another is ridiculed or erased, that’s not neutrality—it’s indoctrination…. it’s programming young White Australians to HATE THEMSELVES and eventually lay the groundwork for acceptance of their own weakness! We must not let this happen, White children deserve better!

That’s why our movement must exist. Not as a fringe reaction, but as a trusted, family-friendly alternative. A movement where young people are proud to belong, and where parents feel confident in their children’s development.

Over the next five years, our goal is to engage with other like-minded organisation and impact tens of thousands of young Australians through structured activities, mentorship, and national pride. Think Scouts Australia—if it still had some backbone and cultural courage.

Our youth movements will provide:

  • Mentorship, merit and rite-of-passage programs.
  • Outdoor adventure, fitness, and bushcraft skills.
  • Traditional arts, crafts and agriculture.
  • Peer bonding free from ‘woke’ propaganda.
  • European cultural history with pride—not shame.

All within the bounds of the law, and always with full transparency.

Already, many of our supporters have turned to homeschooling or alternative education. Our youth initiatives will complement these efforts with curriculum support, student/parent workshops, and weekly extracurriculars. These will align with national standards while correcting the imbalance seen in public education. Our programs will highlight and endorse European civilization, language roots, traditional family roles, and the values that built our nation.

This is not an easy road. Alternative movements are always met with resistance. But history shows us that movements built on unwavering commitment to truth, courage, and community do not just survive—they become the norm.

If you’re a community organiser, parent, professional, tradesperson, teacher, or former Scout leader—we need you. Whether you can mentor, donate, build (a curriculum), or simply share this vision with others, your contribution matters.

Because the mind of a child is never a neutral blank slate, if we do not plant the seeds of truth, identity, and cultural pride—others will plant confusion, doubt, and self-hate.

Let us reclaim that space. Together.
